Consider the material entering the pulper
A pulper or finisher operates on prepared material, not an undefined whole-fruit stream. Crushing and the selected break treatment influence how pulp moves through the extraction and screening section. Record fruit condition, feed temperature, preparation method and the expected rate.
The illustrated double-stage assembly provides successive processing stages. Screen choice and the distribution of extraction and refining duties should follow the required pulp consistency. The number of stages alone does not establish a finished-product texture or measured extraction performance.
Balance acceptable texture and useful separation
Screen openings influence which material passes into the product and which remains in the reject stream. A finer opening is not automatically a better purchase: the intended puree texture, viscosity, feed properties and downstream process all matter.
Review separation using representative material. Look at the product and the rejects rather than judging only the amount collected at the outlet. Skins, seeds and retained product affect the upstream-to-downstream balance, so a product specification should accompany any requested throughput.
Plan screen changes and the next-machine connection
Changing or removing screens requires physical access and appropriate isolation. The line layout should make inspection, cleaning and service practical without forcing avoidable dismantling of neighboring machines. Reject discharge also needs a clear collection route.
State the required condition at the refined-pulp transfer point, including flow, temperature and consistency. Coordinate that output with buffers, evaporation or an existing downstream process. Provide the target puree sample or texture requirement where available.

Questions about this equipment and process
Is the smallest screen opening always preferable?
No. Screen choice should suit the intended texture, material condition, throughput and separation duty. Evaluate both the product and reject streams.
Should pulping be specified independently of break treatment?
The machines have separate functions, but the break process changes the material supplied to pulping and should be coordinated with the extraction specification.
