Do not give mixing and homogenization the same job
Mixing combines the recipe and distributes ingredients through the batch or flowing product. Homogenization is a separate finishing duty used where the intended texture and product condition require it. A machine selected for one duty should not be expected to establish every property of the finished ketchup.
Start with the paste specification and complete ingredient sequence. Changes in the formula can alter viscosity, product flow and mixing behavior. Describe the expected product at each transfer point instead of asking for a generic tomato machine with an undefined texture target.
Give the homogenizer a product and flow specification
The illustrated industrial homogenizer represents the equipment family rather than a universal pressure or capacity recommendation. The useful selection depends on the formulation, desired texture, product flow and pressure duty established for that product.
Compare proposals at stated conditions. If one supplier describes flow at a different pressure or product viscosity, the numbers do not describe the same duty. Representative product information or trials can help establish the intended result without relying on a nominal motor size.
Coordinate finishing with heating and filling
The downstream thermal and packaging process should receive product at its required flow and condition. Finishing operations therefore belong in the connected process review, including transfer control, cleaning and the response to a filling interruption.
Specify which mixing and thermal machines already exist and which task remains unresolved. A targeted homogenizer addition may need different interfaces from a new complete ketchup line. The enquiry should state the observed texture issue, the intended product result and available process data.

Questions about this equipment and process
Can a homogenizer replace ingredient mixing?
It performs a different duty. Recipe preparation and mixing should be established before deciding which finishing operation is required.
How should homogenizer capacities be compared?
Use the same formulation, required pressure duty and product-flow basis, with the intended texture result stated.
